Our Story

BFC Technologies Inc. was founded in 2003 by Dave Eccleston and Ron Lalonde, senior executives of WHE Bio-Systems / Kinetics Modular System, a multimillion-dollar design-build fabricator. Combined they have over 65 years’ experience supplying customized design-build process solutions for a wide range of customers in the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Food, Beverage, Dairy, Consumer Product, Nuclear, and Animal Health industrial sectors. Today, BFC continues to thrive thanks to a combination of savvy leadership, talented engineers and tradespeople, and a keen desire to innovate.

  • 1979

    Establishment of WHE Bio-Systems. WHE began as a site installation company providing turnkey process installation for the food and dairy industries.

  • 1990's

    The focus of the business shifts to biotech and pharmaceutical industries. WHE leads the innovation of modular construction.

  • 1998

    WHE Bio-Systems is acquired by Kinetics and the focus of the business shifts to the fabrication of modular systems under the name Kinetic Modular System (KMS).

  • 2003

    BFC Technologies Inc. is established by Dave Eccleston and Ron Lalonde to provide custom integrated process solutions to meet client needs across the food, beverage, dairy, biotech, pharmaceutical and consumer product industries.

  • 2008

    BFC opens manufacturing shop to allow for in-house fabrication.
     

  • 2014

    Using leading scientific research from around the world, BFC successfully enters the nuclear market broadening our range of customers requiring our specialized services.

  • 2015

    The expanding company moves into larger premises to accommodate growth in engineering and fabrication.

  • 2018

    BFC relocates to larger facility due to increased demand for work in pharmaceutical and dairy industries and increased export opportunities.

  • 2019

    BFC branches into the Animal Health industry, further widening our range of valued customers requiring our custom process solutions.

  • 2020

    To better serve our client’s needs, BFC moves into 55,000 sf new facility with 32 ft ceilings to offer super skid and complex module fabrication abilities.
